The Framework

The Mirrored Walls of Therapy is a practice-based clinical framework built on four constructs — Intentional Self-Disclosure, Unavoidable Self-Disclosure, Countertransference, and Internalized Stigma — each paired with a clinical decision question that guides the clinician's response with intention rather than reflex. It provides a repeatable three-step decision structure for recognizing, identifying, and responding to the reflective moments that arise in every therapeutic encounter.

About the Author

Cassandra Ruela, LPC, is the Chief Operating Officer of Paramount Wellness Retreat and of Paramount Wellness Centers in Connecticut. With 14 years of clinical experience in addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders, she developed the Mirrored Walls framework from the ground up — a framework she has been using to encourage authenticity in therapists. Cassandra is a national presenter at the Addictive Disorders Symposia, serves as Secretary of the Connecticut Certification Board, and is a published author on the framework she built from clinical practice. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, three kids, and three dogs.
